| Katherine Mansfield died of tuberculosis aged only 34. In her short life she travelled widely in Europe and wrote vividly about her homeland, New Zealand. Virginia Woolf said that she was jealous of Mansfield\'s writing, \'the only writing I have ever been jealous of\'.
D.H.Lawrence used her as the model for Gudrun in \'Women in Love\', and in her short life she met many of the great minds in the British literary world. Her stories are vivid and intense and her style is poetic and powerful. |
